Cherry blossom in Wakamiko Castle

The site of Wakamiko Castle is now a "hometown park." It is said to be the birthplace of the Kai Genji (Takeda) clan, and during the Warring States period, the clan built a castle here to defend the northern part of the straits. The founder of the Kai Minamoto Clan, Shinra Saburo Yoshimitsu, was the founder of the Kai Minamoto Clan. The park is located on the site of Wakamiko Castle, where he is said to have built his first castle after moving to Kai from Kyoto. If you walk carefully, you can see the path of the beacon fire tower, which was used as a communication center for a long time. There are many ruins of castles in the area, and Wakamiko Castle was built as the headquarters of the Hojo side that entered Kai from the Shinano side during the Battle of Tensho Jingo between the Hojo and Tokugawa clans. The main castle was a circular stone-paved plaza. There was no playground equipment of any kind, just an unleveled square. Volunteers were mowing the ground with mowers, saying, "We've told the city about this situatsins, but...." I wonder if they did not calculate the cost of maintenance after nearly 100 million taxpayer dollars had been spent. The town of Sudama was beautiful as seen from the park. History is deep, but today, too, I was more interested in dumplings than flowers.

I stopped by a supermarket in Sudama, bought some side dishes for dinner, and went home.
